1 Overview of Antibody Dependent Enhancement (ADE)
"ADE occurs when the antibodies generated during an immune response recognize and bind to a pathogen, but they are unable to prevent infection. Instead, these antibodies act as a “Trojan horse,” allowing the pathogen to get into cells and exacerbate the immune response."

2 ADE Concerns and COVID-19
People who have had COVID-19 should only get 1 shot: "researchers found that people who had previously been infected with the virus reported fatigue, headache, chills, fever, and muscle and joint pain after the first shot more frequently than did those who had never been infected. Covid survivors also had far higher antibody levels after both the first and second doses of the vaccine. Based on these results, the researchers say, people who have had Covid-19 may need only one shot."
